While studying Jazz Performance at the University of North Texas, Ken performed with the — o’clock band and –. **he discovered his passion for craftsmanship and instrument repair while there and apprenticed under —** After graduation/early in his career apprenticed under acclaimed saxophone repairman Tom Layton in (Dallas?) and ran his own shop there for fifteen years. **Ken works regularly with the repair team at MacSax, as well as a number of companies worldwide including —, and has a wide customer base that includes artists such as Shelley Carol, David Sanborn, Michael Brecker, Joe Henderson, Eric Falcon, Marshall McDonald, and Greg Tardy. He currently runs his repair service out of his home in Asheville, North Carolina.
